Messages of Support from individuals and organisations

Jean-Louis Butré

  • Président / Fédération Environnement Durable
  • Chairman / European Platform against windfarms
We face the same enemies and only strong groups of citizens working together on such international platform as EPAW have a chance to win against such a powerful Wind industry lobby.
Scotland is a magnificent region and it is a shame to destroy it.
Good luck and all my best wishes for your fight

The Earl of Cromartie

...
Like many people in the area I have severe doubts on the viability,  not to mention the  likely impact, of the proposed wind farms in the Beauly area.

As you may know I am the immediate past president of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland whose official policy lines up with other similar NGO’s such as the John Muir Trust. However, I write this as a personal letter of support as I am sure you will be fully backed by the above organizations in your fight against the proposed commercialization of our hills and amenity land.

I cannot see any long-term benefit or major carbon savings by the sole deployment of wind turbines but can see a major degradation of our landscape and amenity. Many experts have cast doubt on the viability of wind technology and to me, as a layman but one passionate about the value of our landscape both for its own sake and as a vital amenity for recreation, jobs and tourism; I cannot but fear we are facing an environmental disaster.

To sway a Government already set on a pre-destined path of its own creating will not be easy but for what it is worth I will endeavor to help and support you as much as possible.

Yours Sincerely,
John Cromartie

We would like to add our support against the proliferation of wind turbines in Scotland.
